After the big success of Barbie in the movies and how it became important in culture, Margot Robbie, who not only acted in the movie but also worked hard to make it happen for many years, has become a strong producer for difficult projects. Now, along with her partners at LuckyChap, she’s working on bringing The Sims video game to life in a movie. They’ve got Kate Herron, who directed the first season of Loki, to help write and direct.
The Sims game was made by Will Wright in 2000. It’s a game where you create characters and make them do things in their lives, like achieving goals or just doing everyday stuff. It got really popular with extra stuff added over time.
The game itself doesn’t have a set story, it’s up to the players. Kate Herron and her co-writer Briony Redman have a plan to make it into a movie. Roy Lee is also helping to produce the movie.
Right now, no company has agreed to make the movie yet, but because of the people working on it, it probably will happen soon. And with other video game movies doing well, this one might be part of a new trend.
