The NeverEnding Story To Get New Film Adaptation From Slow Horses Producers

Sorry if anyone who grew up in the 1980s and watched The NeverEnding Story might feel upset when they see the mention of ‘slow horses’ in the title above. But we’re talking about news that See-Saw Films, the company that made The King’s Speech and Slow Horses, has the rights to make a new version of Michael Ende’s book from 1979.

For those who don’t know, The NeverEnding Story is about a kid named Bastian who likes books. He often gets bullied, so he hides in an attic and reads a special book called The NeverEnding Story. The book tells the adventure of a boy named Atréyu who tries to save a magical world from being destroyed by something called ‘The Nothing.’ Eventually, Bastian finds himself inside the story, riding on a luckdragon named Falkor.

The original movie didn’t exactly match the book, which upset the author, but it became popular anyway and even had sequels and TV shows. Now, See-Saw Films wants to make a new version that stays true to the book. They think it’s a story that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and want to bring it to a new generation.

The people at See-Saw Films, along with the author’s estate, will start looking for the right filmmakers to make the new movie about Falkor and his adventures.
