Pam Grier Says She Still Has Injuries From ‘Foxy Brown’ Because She “Didn’t Have a Stunt Double”

The actress Pam Grier talked about her experiences working on the movie Foxy Brown, which came out 50 years ago. She visited the show Live With Kelly and Mark to celebrate. In the movie, she played a character who seeks revenge for her boyfriend’s death by pretending to be a high-class prostitute. Pam Grier didn’t have a stunt double for the movie, so she had to do all the action scenes herself, and she got hurt in the process.

She said that when she started acting, it was unusual for women to do action scenes like martial arts or stunts. People weren’t used to seeing women in tough roles, and some didn’t like it. Pam Grier thinks this was because society was used to men being in charge. She also talked about her memoir, which will talk about her early days in Hollywood and the injuries she got while filming.

She praised actresses like Charlize Theron who do action scenes in movies today. Pam Grier thinks they help change the industry and show that women can be strong heroes on screen.
