Oscars: 2025 Ceremony Will Take Place A Week Earlier Than 2024’s, Other Key Dates Announced

The big movie awards show, the Oscars, will happen a week earlier in 2025 than it did in 2024. The Oscars will be given out on March 2nd, 2025 instead of March 10th. Just like last year, the party will start at 7 p.m. EST/4 p.m. PST, which is an hour earlier than usual.

The Oscars will be shown on TV by ABC, like they have been since 1976. Lots of people around the world will watch it.

  • December 31, 2024: Last day for movies to qualify.
  • January 8, 2025: Second round of voting begins.
  • January 12, 2025: Second round of voting ends.
  • January 17, 2025: Announcement of nominated movies.
  • February 10, 2025: Special lunch for nominees.
  • February 11, 2025: Final round of voting begins.
  • February 18, 2025: Final round of voting ends.
  • March 2, 2025: The 97th Oscars ceremony.
