The streamer will show its new series, Ultraman Rising, at the French animation festival. As part of the official competition, it will also show Blue Eye Samurai and Pokemon Concierge.
Two famous creators, Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham, will give fans of stop-motion animation a sneak peek at their new Wallace & Gromit movie at the Annecy animation festival. The movie is about Wallace making a bright gnome for his garden, but it starts to think for itself. His loyal dog, Gromit, has to fix things. The movie will be on Netflix everywhere except the U.K., where it will be on the BBC first. Aardman Animations made the movie and will also show puppets from the film at the festival.
Netflix will also show other things at Annecy, like ‘The Twits,’ ‘Spellbound,’ and ‘Arcane.’ Zack Snyder will share clips of his new adult animated series ‘Twilight of the Gods,’ which tells stories from Norse myths. The series will be on Netflix this fall. Also, the last season of ‘Big Mouth’ will have a send-off at the festival.
‘Ultraman: Rising,’ ‘Blue Eye Samurai,’ and ‘Pokemon Concierge’ will be in the festival’s competition. Also, British writer/director Richard Curtis and animation veteran Simon Otto will discuss their new animated movie ‘That Christmas,’ based on Curtis’ holiday books, at the festival’s work-in-progress sessions.
The full lineup for the Annecy festival will be announced later this week.
