Kelly Rowland, a former member of Destiny’s Child, seemed to scold an usher at the premiere of “Marcello Mio” on Tuesday.
A video from the event at Cannes shows Kelly having a tense moment with an usher. As she walked the red carpet, posing for photos and waving to fans, an usher told her to hurry up the stairs of the Palais des Festivals. The usher, a woman in a black suit, touched Kelly’s arm and accidentally stepped on her dress. Kelly smiled and seemed to tell the usher not to worry. However, the usher kept touching her arm and said something that upset Kelly. Kelly then appeared to scold the usher, but it didn’t seem to change anything.
Eventually, a man came and talked to the usher while Kelly tried to go up the stairs. Another woman with Kelly also talked to the usher, questioning her actions. The usher then pushed the group toward the theater doors.
A lip-reading expert told Page Six that Kelly seemed to say to the usher, “Don’t talk to me like that. Don’t talk to me like that. You’re not my mother. I told you not to talk to me like that.”
Security at Cannes is known for being strict to keep the festival on schedule. In 2018, Cannes even banned selfies on the red carpet to prevent delays, with security taking phones or covering cameras if rules are broken.
