Cannes announced this year’s festival’s first-ever lineup of virtual and augmented reality films.
The Cannes Film Festival revealed the first virtual and augmented reality movies to be shown at the famous French festival.
There are eight movies in the competition and six more for special screenings. These movies feature well-known actors like Jessica Chastain, Colin Farrell, Millie Bobby Brown, and Tahar Rahim.
These movies use advanced technology like virtual reality, augmented reality, and holograms to tell stories in new and exciting ways.
Cannes hopes this new section will illuminate emerging artists who are changing how stories are told.
The movies will be shown in a particular area at the Cannes Cineum complex and the Georges Méliès film school in Cannes.
The best movie will be honored on May 23.
This particular section of the festival will run from May 15 to May 24, alongside the regular Cannes Film Festival from May 14 to May 25.
