Bob Slutske, Tech Expert Who Helped Pave the Way for Hollywood’s Computer-Digital Age, Dies at 81

Bob Slutske was good at making movies better. He helped make editing movies easier and faster. He died in Los Angeles when he was 81 years old. He had been sick for a long time.

For 60 years, Bob worked in the theatre and movie industry. He helped create new ways to edit movies. He also helped make lights and sound in movies better using computers.

At first, Bob worked in theatre. He helped with lights and managing the stage. Then, he moved to working with big companies like Ampex and LucasFilm. He worked with famous directors like Stanley Kubrick and George Lucas.

Bob worked for 17 years at a company called National TeleConsultants. He helped many big companies with their technology. He was very good at it.

Bob was part of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers his whole life. He helped make decisions in the group.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Shoshana and Reina, his brother Dale, and his son-in-law Christopher.
