The first teaser for the new Beetlejuice movie is out! It’s a shout-out to the famous song “Banana Boat Song” by Harry Belafonte. This teaser tells us two things: A) It’s continuing the story from the 1988 film, and B) Michael Keaton’s character, Beetlejuice, is back to create more chaos.
The movie is directed by Tim Burton, with Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara returning, along with Keaton. Newcomers include Jenna Ortega from “Wednesday.” The story revolves around Lydia’s family returning home, and her daughter Astrid accidentally opening a portal to the afterlife. Trouble brews in both worlds, and Beetlejuice’s mischief is bound to cause chaos.
It seems the storyline might deal with the passing of a character, possibly to avoid casting someone with a troubled past. The movie also features Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe. It’s set to release on September 6th.
