About Turtles All the Way Down
“Turtles All the Way Down” is a new movie based on a book by John Green. It’s about a teenager who has a condition called obsessive-compulsive disorder. She tries to solve the mystery of a missing rich person. The movie is directed by Hannah Marks and stars Isabela Merced.
The movie idea started in 2017 and got moving in 2019. At first, it was with one company, but then another company took over. Isabela Merced was chosen for the movie in 2022. They started filming in April 2022 and finished in June.

Premise
When a 16-year-old girl with obsessive-compulsive disorder meets her old crush again, she wonders if she can find love and happiness even with her mental illness.

Production
The movie “Turtles All the Way Down” was chosen by Fox 2000 Pictures when the book came out in 2017. John Green and Rosianna Halse Rojas are in charge. Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptaker wrote the script in May 2018. Hannah Marks became the director in January 2019. But when Disney took over Fox 2000 Pictures, the project stopped. New Line Cinema then picked it up, and it will be on HBO max/max. It’s made by Temple Hill Entertainment, who did other movies based on Green’s books.
Isabela Merced, who was in another movie based on Green’s book, was chosen in February 2022. Other actors like Judy Reyes and Cree Cicchino joined later. They started filming in Cincinnati in April 2022 and finished in June.
In January 2024, they said the movie would be shown for the first time at SCAD TVfest on February 9, 2024. The movie will come out later that year.
Release
Turtles All the Way Down will come out on Max on May 2, 2024.
