About Trigger Warning
Trigger Warning is a new action thriller from America. It’s directed by Mouly Surya, who is making her first English-language film. The writers are Halley Gross, Josh Olson, and John Brancato. Thunder Road Films and Lady Spitfire are producing the movie. The main actors are Jessica Alba and Anthony Michael Hall.
The story is about a skilled Special Forces officer. She inherits her grandfather’s bar when he passes away. Soon, however, she deals with a dangerous gang causing trouble in her hometown.
Thunder Road Films first picked up the movie in June 2016. They wanted a script written by Josh Olson and John Brancato. They described the movie as being led by a woman, similar to a mix of “First Blood” and “John Wick.” Later, Netflix got the movie in May 2020. Jessica Alba was chosen to star in it and also became one of the executive producers. Mouly Surya was brought on to direct.
Most of the main cast was chosen in September 2021. Filming took place in New Mexico from September to October 2021. Enis Rotthoff composed the music for the movie in August 2023.
“Trigger Warning” will be released on Netflix on June 21, 2024.
Premise of Trigger Warning
Parker is a former soldier who has PTSD. She inherits her grandfather’s bar. When she discovers what caused her father’s sudden death, she is faced with a strict moral choice.

Production
Development
On June 23, 2016, Thunder Road Films said they bought a script for a movie called “Trigger Warning” by Josh Olson and John Brancato. Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee will produce the film. They describe it as a story like “First Blood” but with a female lead, like John Wick, in a small town.
On May 15, 2020, Netflix said they bought the film. Mouly Surya, from Indonesia, will direct her first English-language movie. Jessica Alba will help produce the film.
On September 2, 2021, Halley Gross will work on the script.
Casting
When they announced the film, they also said Alba would be in it. Then, on September 2, 2021, they chose Anthony Michael Hall, Mark Webber, Alejandro De Hoyos, Tone Bell, Jake Weary, and Gabriel Basso to be in the movie too.
Filming
Filming was supposed to begin in New Mexico in the fall of 2021. But on October 1, 2021, a crew member named James Saul got hurt. A cable snapped and hit him, breaking his leg.
Music
On August 29, 2023, it was said that Enis Rotthoff made the music for the movie. Rotthoff is famous for making music for movies like Guns Akimbo, Love Sarah, and The Sunlit Night.
Release
Trigger Warning will come out on Netflix on June 21, 2024.
