About The Wild Robot
The Wild Robot movie is coming soon. It’s based on a book series by Peter Brown. DreamWorks Animation made it and Universal Pictures will show it. Chris Sanders wrote and directed it, with Jeff Hermann producing and Dean DeBlois executive-producing. Lupita Nyong’o plays Roz, the main character, and there are other actors voicing different characters too, like Pedro Pascal, Kit Connor, Bill Nighy, Stephanie Hsu, Mark Hamill, and Catherine O’Hara.
DreamWorks said they were making The Wild Robot into a movie in September 2023, with Sanders, Hermann, and DeBlois working on it. This will be the last movie DreamWorks makes all by itself because after 2024, they’ll get more help from other studios. Kris Bowers will make the music for the movie.
The Wild Robot will come out in theaters in the United States on September 27, 2024.
Premise
This big adventure story is about a robot named Roz. She gets stuck on a deserted island and has to learn how to live there. Along the way, she makes friends with the animals and ends up taking care of a baby goose whose parents are gone.

Production
Development
On September 28, 2023, DreamWorks Animation said they’re making a cartoon movie based on The Wild Robot books by Peter Brown. Chris Sanders will write and direct it, Jeff Hermann will produce it, and Dean DeBlois will be the executive producer. They also announced other people working on the movie, like Raymond Zibach as the production designer, Mary Blee as the editor, and Heidi Jo Gilbert as the head of the story.
Casting
On March 5, 2024, they showed the first video to promote the movie. They said Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Catherine O’Hara, Bill Nighy, Kit Connor, Stephanie Hsu, Mark Hamill, Matt Berry, and Ving Rhames will act in it.
Animation and design
The Wild Robot movie will be the last one made only by DreamWorks. Cartoon Brew said on October 6, 2023 that DreamWorks will stop making movies at their Glendale campus. Instead, they will ask other studios to help after 2024.
Music
Kris Bowers will write the music for the movie. It’s his first time writing music for a cartoon.
Release
The Wild Robot is scheduled to be released on September 27, 2024.
