The Idea of You is a funny and sweet movie from 2024. Michael Showalter directed it. A book inspires the movie of the same name by Robinne Lee. Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine are the main actors. Solène is a 40-year-old mom who is divorced. Her ex-husband asks her to take their 16-year-old daughter to Coachella. Something unexpected happens when she starts liking 24-year-old Hayes Campbell. He’s the main singer in the famous pop boyband August Moon.

Production
In December 2018, they said they would make a movie based on the book “The Idea of You” by Robinne Lee. Welle Entertainment decided to do it, and Cathy Schulman and Gabrielle Union are making the movie. Gabrielle Union likes the book and even said it’s one of her top ten favourites.
Gabrielle Union and Robinne Lee have been friends since the early 2000s. Some other people, like Eric Hayes, Belle Hope Dayne, and Jordana Mollick, also helped make the movie.
In June 2021, they shared that Jennifer Westfelft turned the book into a script, and Anne Hathaway will be the leading actor. In August 2022, they said Michael Showalter would be the director. In September 2022, they added Nicholas Galitzine to the cast. He will play the lead singer in the movie, who is part of “the hottest boyband on the planet.”
In October 2022, they told us that Ella Rubin would be Anne Hathaway’s daughter in the movie, and they started filming. They have been shooting the movie in Atlanta, Georgia, and the nearby areas since October 2022. Some pictures in the media showed Galitzine and Hathaway filming together in Savannah, Georgia.
Release
The film is scheduled to be released on May 2, 2024, as an Amazon Prime Video exclusive.
