About Stream
Stream is a new American horror movie that Michael Leavy helped write, produce, and direct. The movie features many well-known actors, including Charles Edwin Powell, Danielle Harris, Jeffrey Combs, Dee Wallace, Tim Reid, Mark Holton, Felissa Rose, Tony Todd, Daniel Roebuck, Dave Sheridan, Terry Alexander, Damian Maffei, and David Howard Thornton. Some people working on Stream also worked on the horror movies Terrifier, Terrifier 2, and the upcoming Terrifier 3.
Fans partly fund the movie through a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. So far, they have raised over $180,000 from horror fans worldwide, using the hashtag #JoinTheStream to promote it. Stream is set to be released in theaters on August 21, 2024.
Premise
When Roy and Elaine Keenan notice their family is growing apart, they decide to do something about it. Roy puts his job aside and they plan to relive a vacation from the past. They think a quiet stay in a small, charming hotel will be perfect. However, things don’t go as planned. Four dangerous killers are lurking in the hotel, making the place very unsafe. Roy has to fight to protect his family, turning their simple weekend trip into a deadly adventure.

Production
Several producers and crew members for the movie Stream also worked on the 2016 slasher film Terrifier and its sequel Terrifier 2. This includes Stream’s director Michael Leavy, who acted in Terrifier and was a producer and assistant director for Terrifier 2. David Howard Thornton, who played Art the Clown in the Terrifier movies, and Damien Leone, who directed both Terrifier films and led the special makeup effects for Stream, are also involved. Jason Leavy and Steven Della Salla, who played cops in the original Terrifier and were co-producers on Terrifier 2, are part of the team as well. Director Leavy mentioned that they started working on Stream right after finishing Terrifier 2, using almost the same crew.
In September 2021, Michael Leavy said that over 90% of the movie was already filmed and in post-production. However, the COVID-19 pandemic caused unexpected costs to keep everyone safe. Leavy saw this as a chance to invite horror fans to join them in creating something new. To cover the remaining expenses, the filmmakers started a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.
Release
In October 2023, a trailer for the movie “Stream” came out and said the movie would be released in 2024. In April 2024, they announced that “Stream” would be in theaters on August 21, 2024.
