About Srikanth
“Srikanth” is a new movie in Hindi about the life of Srikanth Bolla. He is an Indian businessman who started Bollant Industries even though he is visually impaired. The movie is directed by Tushar Hiranandani and stars Rajkummar Rao as Srikanth. Other actors in the movie are Jyothika, Alaya F, and Sharad Kelkar. They filmed the movie from November 2022 to January 2023. Originally, it was going to come out in theaters in September 2023, but now it’s going to be released on May 10, 2024.
Plot
This movie is about Srikanth Bolla, an Indian entrepreneur. He started Bollant Industries in 2012. This company helps people who don’t have skills or who are differently-abled to work and make eco-friendly products. This story begins when he was born blind in 1992 in Seetharamapuram village in Machilipatnam, in what was then Andhra Pradesh, India. The film shows his challenges from when he was a child. One famous line from the film is “mai bhaag nahi sakta, sirf lad sakta hun” which means “I can’t run away, I can only fight.”
The movie shows how Srikanth faced difficulties, like wanting to study science even though he was told he couldn’t, despite scoring 98%. He also went to court for this. Later, he became the first visually impaired international student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology after being rejected from the Indian Institute of Technology.
The movie’s tagline is ‘AA RAHA HAI SABKI AANKHEN KHOLNE’, which means “he is coming to open everyone’s eyes”.

Production
Development
The movie was first called SRI but was later changed to Srikanth. The director, Tushar, wanted to make a film about Srikanth Bolla initially, but he couldn’t because Srikanth Bolla was too busy with his work to meet with him. Tushar then contacted Srikanth through Srikanth’s business partner, Ravi Mantha. Ravi Mantha, played by Sharad Kelkar in the film and also the narrator, helped Tushar get the rights to make the film about Srikanth Bolla. Initially, Srikanth had given the rights to another Bollywood director, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Ravi met with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who agreed to give the rights to Tushar because he was not ready to make the film at that time.
Filming
Filming for the movie started in November 2022 and finished in January 2023. Jyothika returned to Bollywood with this film. At first, she said no to the role, but later changed her mind after talking with her husband, the famous South Indian actor Suriya. During filming, Rajkummar Rao, the main actor, wore special contact lenses all day long. He also spent time with people who are visually impaired to better understand his character.

The movie’s preview came out on April 9, 2024.
Soundtrack
The music for this movie was made by Anand-Milind, Aditya Dev, and Sachet-Parampara. They wrote the words for the songs, too. The song “Papa Kehte Hain” from the movie “Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak” was sung by Udit Narayan and has lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri. Aamir Khan introduced “Papa Kehte Hain” on April 22, 2024.
