Production
Olivia West Lloyd decided to create the movie because she liked watching scary movies where one person survives until the end. She wanted to see what happens to those characters after the movie ends. They filmed the main parts of the movie in 2022 in places like Cotuit, Boston, Barnstable, and Yarmouth in Massachusetts.
Release
Somewhere Quiet was first shown to the world at the Tribeca Festival on June 8, 2023. In October 2023, Vertical Entertainment got the rights to show the movie in the United States and the United Kingdom. The movie is set to come out in the United States on February 2, 2024.
Reception
On the Rotten Tomatoes website, 9 out of 10 critics liked the movie, giving it an average score of 7.2 out of 10. Meagan Navarro from Bloody Disgusting said that if you’re okay with exploring the deeper thoughts of a troubled mind, “Somewhere Quiet” is a sad, personal, and atmospheric ending to a Final Girl’s story by the sea.
