About Sing Sing
Sing Sing is a drama movie from 2023 directed by Greg Kwedar, who also helped write the story with Clint Bentley. It’s inspired by the real-life Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at Sing Sing prison. The story focuses on inmates who take part in making theater shows through this program. The movie stars actors like Colman Domingo and Paul Raci, as well as real former inmates who were in the program, like Clarence “Divine Eye” Maclin and Sean San José.
It first showed at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023. The movie will be released by A24 in the United States on July 12, 2024.
Premise
A few prisoners in Sing Sing Correctional Facility, which is a very famous and secure prison, are trying to put on their own unique show called “Breakin’ The Mummy’s Code.”

Release
The movie first showed at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival as part of the Special Presentations program. A24 decided to distribute it after seeing it there.
It’s planned to come out in a few theaters in the United States on July 12, 2024. After that, it will be in more theaters starting August 2.
