About Sarfira
Sarfira is a new movie from India. It’s in Hindi and it’s a drama. Sudha Kongara directs it, and Abundantia Entertainment, 2D Entertainment, and Cape Of Good Films produce it. The main actors are Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Radhika Madan, and Seema Biswas. This movie is a redo of Sudha’s earlier movie called Soorarai Pottru from 2020, which was based on a book by G. R. Gopinath called Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey.
The story is about a man who wants to make regular people fly, but he has many enemies trying to stop him.
The movie was first talked about in July 2021 with a working title Project 1. It was 2D Entertainment’s first Hindi movie. They announced the official title in February 2024. Filming started in April 2022, mostly in Mumbai. G. V. Prakash Kumar makes the music.
Sarfira will be in theatres on 12 July 2024.

Production
Development
On July 12, 2021, Jyothika and Suriya, who lead 2D Entertainment, said that they would make a Hindi version of their movie Soorarai Pottru (2020). They also said that Sudha Kongara, who directed the original film, would direct this version too. They would work with Vikram Malhotra from Abundantia Entertainment to fund it. They thought about Ajay Devgn, John Abraham, Akshay Kumar, or Hrithik Roshan to play Suriya’s role in the original. They would choose based on who was available.
In August, the co-producer Sikhya Entertainment went to the Madras High Court. They said that originally, they were going to make the remake with 2D Entertainment, but 2D sold the rights to Abundantia without their agreement. By early September, the case was closed, and Sikhya Entertainment wasn’t part of the production anymore. On April 25, 2022, they announced that Akshay Kumar would play Suriya’s role. They had a special ceremony in Mumbai with the cast and crew on the same day. Radhika Madan was cast as Kumar’s co-star. They named the movie Sarfira on February 13, 2024, and set the release date for July 12, 2024.
Filming
Filming started on April 25, 2022, in Mumbai. Madan finished filming her parts by October 23rd.
Music
G. V. Prakash Kumar made the music and background sounds for this movie. It’s his second time working with Sudha after Soorarai Pottru and his first time working with Akshay. Prakash said on April 29, 2022, that he finished the first song of the movie’s soundtrack.
Release
Sarfira will come out in movie theaters on July 12, 2024.
