Production
In March 2022, it was announced that Megan Park would write and direct her second feature film, a coming-of-age comedy called My Old Ass. LuckyChap Entertainment, Scythia Films, and Indian Paintbrush are making the movie.
Filming began on August 15, 2022, in Muskoka Lakes, Ontario, Canada. In a January 2023 interview, Tyler Hilton said he was composing the music for the film and that Aubrey Plaza was starring in it.
Release
The movie was first shown at the Sundance Film Festival on January 20, 2024. Soon after, Amazon MGM Studios bought the rights to show the movie for $15 million. After being shown in theaters, the movie will be available to stream on Prime Video worldwide. At first, they planned to show the movie in many theaters in the United States and Canada. However, it was later decided that it would only be shown in a few theaters in the United States starting on August 2, 2024.
