About Kinds of Kindness
Kinds of Kindness is a new movie directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. He wrote it with Efthimis Filippou. The movie has famous actors like Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer.
This movie will be shown for the first time at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in May 2024. Searchlight Pictures will release it in the United States on June 21, 2024, and Ireland and the United Kingdom on June 28, 2024.
Premise
Kinds of Kindness is a story told in three parts. The first part is about a man who feels he has no control over his life and wants to change that. The second part is about a policeman who is worried because his wife, who was lost at sea, has come back but seems like a changed person. The third part is about a woman on a mission to find a person she believes will become a great spiritual leader.

Production
Yorgos Lanthimos and Efthymis Filippou wrote a movie script called “And.” They were working with Element Pictures and Film4 to develop the film. Searchlight Pictures agreed to distribute the film, and Lanthimos would also direct it. The cast included Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, and Margaret Qualley. They planned to start filming in New Orleans in October. Later, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, and Mamoudou Athie joined the cast in October 2022. Hunter Schafer mentioned in an interview in February 2023 that she had a small role in the film.
They filmed in New Orleans from October 24 to December 16, 2022. In December 2023, the movie’s title was changed to “Kinds of Kindness.”
Release
Kinds of Kindness will be first shown at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in May 2024. After that, it will come out in the United States on June 21, 2024, through Searchlight Pictures. It will be released in Ireland and the United Kingdom on June 28, 2024. The film will also appear in Greece through Feelgood on May 30, 2024.
