Irish Wish is a new movie mix of fantasy, romance, and comedy. It’s directed by Janeen Damian and written by Kirsten Hansen. The central star is Lindsay Lohan, and this is her second project in a row with Netflix and the Damians. The producers are Brad Krevoy and Michael Damian. They shared the news about the movie in September 2022 and started filming in Ireland immediately. You can watch it on Netflix when it comes out on March 15, 2024.
Premise Of Irish Wish
When Maddie’s best friend is going to marry the person Maddie loves, Maddie decides to be a bridesmaid at their wedding in Ireland, even though it makes her sad. A few days before the wedding, Maddie makes a wish for true love and then wakes up as the bride herself. At first, it seems like her dream has come true, but Maddie soon discovers that her true soulmate is someone else.

Production of Irish Wish
After returning to acting in the holiday movie Falling for Christmas, Netflix said in March 2022 that they would make more movies with Lindsay Lohan. They agreed to work together on two new films. In May 2022, Lohan talked to Forbes about the plan:
I liked working with Netflix and Christina Rogers on Falling for Christmas. They agreed to work with me on two new movies. Romantic comedy movies have become less common, and I miss them. I used to act in these kinds of movies when I started working. I want to bring them back in a good way. Movies about women finding themselves are great in a happy and fun way. I miss that, and Netflix is supporting me in bringing it back.
In August 2022, news came out that Lohan would be making a new movie called Irish Wish in different places in Ireland the next month. The film is set in modern-day Ireland, and Lohan plays the main character. It was expected to be on Netflix the following year. A casting call for someone to stand in for Lohan in the movie revealed they would be filming in Dublin, Wicklow, and Westport from September 5 to October 14, 2022.
On September 1, 2022, Netflix officially announced Irish Wish as part of their two-movie partnership with Lohan. The movie was going to be directed by Janeen Damian, who Lohan worked with on Falling for Christmas. Kirsten Hansen wrote the screenplay. Brad Krevoy and Michael Damian from Motion Picture Corporation of America will be producing, and Hansen, Amanda Phillips, Jimmy Townsend, and Vince Balzano will be executive producers. On September 14, it was revealed that Ed Speleers, Alexander Vlahos, Ayesha Curry, Elizabeth Tan, and Jane Seymour had joined the cast.
In November 2022, Seymour mentioned on The Late Late Show that she would be playing Lohan’s character’s mother in the film. Lohan talked about her character, saying, “She’s a bit of a bookworm. She’s a nerd, which I loved playing. But she’s a sweetheart. She’s naive and keeps it that way because her head is always focused on writing and stuff.” She also mentioned that her brother Dakota would be in the movie. The same month, Michael and Janeen Damian shared that they had started editing the film. They said that Lohan would do more physical comedy and some of her stunts. Damian described the film as taking place in the summer, being a love letter to Ireland, having fun, and having physical comedy, heart, and a bit of magic. He added, “It’s a ‘be careful what you wish for’ story. Sometimes, you may not get what you want, but you get what you need.”
Release of Irish Wish
The film is scheduled to be released on March 15, 2024 on Netflix.
