Premise of I Saw the TV Glow
Two young people become friends because they both really like a TV show. But when the show suddenly gets canceled in a strange way, they start to feel like what’s happening around them isn’t real anymore.

Production
In October 2021, it was said that Jane Schoenbrun would make the movie. They also wrote the script. Emma Stone will produce the movie under her company called Fruit Tree. A24 will help make, pay for, and share the movie.
In August 2022, it was said that many actors would be in the movie. The actors are Justice Smith, Brigette Lundy-Paine, Helena Howard, Danielle Deadwyler, Amber Benson, Ian Foreman, Michael Maronna, Conner O’Malley, Emma Portner, Danny Tamberelli, Phoebe Bridgers, Lindsey Jordan, Fred Durst, Haley Dahl, Jonathan Chacko, and Kristina Esfandiari.
The main filming happened in New Jersey from July to August 2022. They filmed at places like Verona High School, Cedar Grove High School, Keansburg Amusement Park, The Saint music venue, and Camp Lewis.
Release
The movie “I Saw the TV Glow” first showed at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival on January 18, 2024, and then at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival on February 20, 2024. It also played at South by Southwest on March 10, 2024. People can watch it in cinemas from May 3, 2024.
