About Hit Man
Hit Man is a funny and exciting movie from 2023. It’s made in America and directed by Richard Linklater. The main actors are Glen Powell and Adria Arjona. They also wrote the story based on a magazine article by Skip Hollandsworth from 2001. The movie is about a police officer in Houston who pretends to be a hitman to help a woman. Hit Man first showed at a big film festival in Venice on September 5, 2023. You can watch it on Netflix starting June 7, 2024.

Production
Before the Cannes Film Market in 2022, they said they would sell a new movie called ‘Hit Man’ worldwide. The story came from a Texas Monthly article called ‘Hit Man’ by Skip Hollandsworth. Richard Linklater and Glen Powell wrote the script. Glen Powell would also be the director, and he’d act in it too. Adria Arjona would also work in the movie. AGC Studios said the movie sold well internationally at the Toronto International Film Festival 2022. In October 2022, they added Austin Amelio, Retta, and Molly Bernard to the cast.
They started filming in New Orleans in October 2022 and finished in November 2022.
Release
The movie “Hit Man” first came out in September 2023. It first showed at a big film festival in Venice on September 5 and then in North America on September 11 at the Toronto International Film Festival.
At the Toronto festival, Netflix bought the rights to show the movie for $20 million. This was the biggest deal at the festival and for the whole year of 2023. They are also thinking about showing the movie in theaters. You can watch it on Netflix starting June 7, 2024.
