Wade Allain-Marcus directed it, and Chuck Hayward wrote it. Simone Joy Jones, Ms. Pat, Jermaine Fowler, June Squibb, and Nicole Richie are the main actors.

Production of Do not Tell Mom the Babysitter Dead
In May 2020, they said they’d make a new version of the movie “Do not Tell Mom the Babysitter Dead” from 1991. A company called Treehouse Pictures is working on it. Chuck Hayward will write the script, and Bille Woodruff will be the director. They’re making it a new story about a black family in today’s time. In April 2022, Tyra Banks agreed to be in the movie as a character named Rose.
But in late February 2024, they said the movie will be on BET+. Wade Allain-Marcus is the new director instead of Bille Woodruff. Tyra Banks won’t act as Rose anymore. Still, she will help make the movie as an executive producer through her company, SMiZE Productions. The main cast includes Nicole Richie, June Squibb, Jermaine Fowler, Ms. Pat, Gus Kenworthy, Simone Joy Jones, Donielle Tremaine Hansley, Miles Fowler, Iantha Richardson, and Tyriq Withers. They filmed the main scenes in Santa Clarita, California, in June 2023.
