About Dìdi
Dìdi, which means ‘Younger Brother’ in Chinese, is a funny and touching movie from 2024 about growing up in America. It’s written, directed, and made by Sean Wang, who is doing this job for the first time. The main actors are Izaac Wang and Joan Chen. Carlos López Estrada and Chris Columbus helped to make the movie as producers. They worked with their companies, AntiGravity Academy and Maiden Voyage Pictures.
Dìdi was first shown to the world at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival on January 19, 2024. People there liked it a lot and gave it awards. Thanks to Focus Features, it’sThanks to Focus Features, it will come out in theaters on July 26, 2024.

Production
Filming took place in July 2023 in Fremont, California. Most of the actors in the movie are new and from the Bay Area. This movie was chosen for the 2023 Sundance Institute Screenwriting & Directors Lab and received the 2022 SFFILM Rainin Grant.
Release
Dìdi was shown for the first time worldwide at the Sundance Film Festival on January 19, 2024. After a few days, Focus Features agreed to show the movie in theaters. It was also shown at South by Southwest on March 12, 2024, and will be the last movie at the Sundance Festival in London on June 9, 2024. It was first shown to international audiences at the Beijing International Film Festival on April 19, 2024. People can watch the movie in theaters starting on July 26, 2024.
