Arthur the King is an exciting new movie from America. Simon Cellan Jones directed it, and Michael Brandt wrote it. The main actors are Mark Wahlberg, Simu Liu, and Juliet Rylance. The story comes from an actual book, “Arthur – The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home” by Mikael Lindnord in 2016.
The movie is about a team leader doing a tough 435-mile race in the Dominican Republic. During the race, they meet a hurt dog named Arthur. The team and Arthur become friends, and the dog joins them on their challenging adventure.
The movie was first going to be released by Paramount Players in 2019, but later, it moved to Lionsgate in June 2020. They started filming in the Dominican Republic in January 2021. You can watch Arthur the King when it comes out on March 15, 2024.

Production of Arthur the King
At first, Baltasar Kormákur was supposed to be the movie’s director, but he couldn’t do it because he had other things to do.
Then, in July 2019, they said that Mark Wahlberg would be in the movie. In December 2020, they told us that Simu Liu, Ali Suliman, and Rob Collins would also be in it. Simon Cellan Jones would be the new director instead of Kormákur.
Paramount Players was going to show the movie, but they changed their mind, and Lionsgate took their place in June 2020. They would start filming in Puerto Rico, but it got delayed. In December 2020, Lionsgate also decided not to be part of the movie.
Finally, they started filming in January 2021 in the Dominican Republic. In November 2023, Lionsgate decided to be the distributor again, and they set a date to release the movie on March 22, 2024.
