Vikas Bahl is a filmmaker from India. He’s most famous for making the movie Queen in 2013, a funny and emotional story.
Early Life and Education:
Vikas grew up in Lajpat Nagar in Delhi. His dad worked for Indian Oil Corporation. He went to school at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya and then studied at Ramjas College in Delhi. After that, he went to Mumbai for an MBA at SVKM’s NMIMS.
Career:
He started his career in advertising, helping companies with their ads. Later, he joined UTV Spotboy. In 2011, he and some friends started Phantom Films. He’s worked with many famous directors like Vishal Bhardwaj and Anurag Kashyap.
In 2011, he made his first movie, Chillar Party, with Nitesh Tiwari. It won awards for the screenplay and for being the best children’s movie. Then, in 2014, he made Queen, which was a big hit.
His movie Shaandar in 2015 didn’t do well. He also made a short film called Going Home about women’s safety that got a lot of attention. He directed a biopic called Super 30 in 2019. Later, he directed Ganapath in 2023, but it didn’t get good reviews.
Sexual Harassment Allegations:
In 2018, some people accused Vikas Bahl of sexual harassment during the making of Queen. This led to the breakup of Phantom Films, the company he co-founded. Some of his colleagues also spoke out against him. He then took legal action against them for defamation.
