Rupert Miles Sanders is a film director from England. He was born on 16th March 1971. He directed movies like Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) and Ghost in the Shell (2017). In 2021, he directed the first episode of a sci-fi series called Foundation on Apple TV+.
Early Life:
Sanders was born in Westminster, London. His parents are Thalia and Michael Sanders, who is an eye doctor. After studying at Kingston School of Art, he got a degree in graphic design from Central St Martins.
Career:
Sanders started working in commercials under Tony Kaye. He used to do art direction, but Kaye suggested he try directing. Sanders made many TV ads, including one for Halo 3: ODST, which won awards.
His first big movie was Snow White and the Huntsman, released in 2012. It cost $170 million to make and earned a lot of money. After turning down the chance to direct a Pirates of the Caribbean movie, he directed Ghost in the Shell in 2017.
Sanders was going to direct a movie called Rub & Tug in 2018, but it got stuck in development after some controversies.
In April 2022, it was announced that Sanders will direct a new version of The Crow, starring Bill Skarsgård.
Personal Life:
Sanders married model Liberty Ross in 2002. They moved to Los Angeles for Sanders’ career. They have two kids, Skyla and Tennyson. In 2012, there were pictures of Sanders with actress Kristen Stewart, which led to Sanders and Stewart apologizing. Sanders and Ross got divorced in 2014.
