Nikkhil Advani

Nikkhil Suresh Advani is an Indian filmmaker. He makes movies in Hindi. He started a company called Emmay Entertainment with his sister, Monisha Advani, and Madhu Bhojwani.

Nikkhil was born and grew up in Bombay, India. His family is from the Sindhi Hindu community. His dad worked in big companies in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. His mom worked in advertising. Nikkhil went to Green Lawns High School and later studied chemistry at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. He got married to his college friend, Suparna Gupta, and they have a daughter named Keya. Nikkhil is related to the late producer N. N. Sippy and actors Tusshar Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor.

Nikkhil has been making movies for over 25 years. He started by helping other directors and working with big production houses like Dharma Productions and Yash Raj Films. His first big movie was “Kal Ho Naa Ho” in 2003, which was a big success. He’s made other successful movies like “Salaam-e-Ishq” (2007), “Chandni Chowk to China” (2009), and “Batla House” (2019). He’s also produced many films under his company Emmay Entertainment.

Nikkhil produced his first web series called “Hasmukh” for Netflix in 2020. He also created “Mumbai Diaries 26/11” for Amazon Prime Video, which was released in 2021 and got a lot of praise.

Nikkhil has made short films too. One of his short films, “Apartment,” was part of the anthology “Unpaused – Apartment” released on Amazon Prime Video in 2020.

Apart from movies, Nikkhil has worked on TV too. He directed a TV series called “P.O.W.- Bandi Yuddh Ke” for Star Plus.

Outside of filmmaking, Nikkhil is involved in nature conservation efforts and helps restore classic films. He’s also a big fan of soccer and promotes Manchester City Football Club in Mumbai.
