M. Night Shyamalan

Manoj Nelliyattu “M. Night” Shyamalan is a movie director, producer, and writer. He was born in India on August 6, 1970, and now lives in the United States. His movies usually have supernatural stories and surprise endings. His movies have earned more than $3.3 billion worldwide.

Shyamalan grew up in India and later in Pennsylvania, USA. He made some early films like Praying with Anger and Wide Awake. But he became famous with The Sixth Sense in 1999, which got him Academy Award nominations.

After that, he made movies like Unbreakable, Signs, and The Village. However, some of his later movies, like Lady in the Water, The Happening, The Last Airbender, and After Earth, did not do well.

But then, he had a comeback with movies like The Visit, Split, Glass, and Old. His recent movies are Knock at the Cabin (2023), The Watchers (2024), and Trap (2024).

Apart from movies, Shyamalan is also involved in TV shows. He produced and directed episodes for Servant and Wayward Pines. He is also known for his production company, Blinding Edge Pictures.

Shyamalan has a personal interest in education and wrote a book called “I Got Schooled” to improve education in American schools.

In his personal life, Shyamalan is married to Bhavna Vaswani, and they have three daughters. They live in a large estate near Philadelphia. Shyamalan is a fan of the Philadelphia 76ers and, in 2023, he bought another estate in Pennsylvania.
