Imtiaz Ali

Imtiaz Ali is an Indian filmmaker. He makes movies. Some of his famous movies are Jab We Met (2007), Love Aaj Kal (2009), Rockstar (2011), Highway (2014), and Tamasha (2015).

Imtiaz Ali was born on June 16, 1971. He grew up in Jabalpur and Patna. His family is from Jamshedpur in Bihar, India. His dad worked as a contractor. Imtiaz went to St. Michael’s High School in Patna and D.B.M.S. English School in Jamshedpur. He has a brother named Arif Ali, who is also a director.

Imtiaz loved movies since he was a kid. He even lived near a cinema theater. He was not good at studies at first but later improved. He went to Hindu College, University of Delhi, where he did theater.

Imtiaz Ali is married to Preety Ali. They have a daughter named Ida Ali, who is also a director.

Imtiaz started by directing TV shows. Then he moved on to making movies. His first film was Socha Na Tha in 2005, which didn’t do well. But his next movie, Jab We Met (2007), was a big hit. After that, he made successful films like Love Aaj Kal (2009), Rockstar (2011), and Highway (2014).

He also started his own production company called Window Seat Films. In 2015, he directed Tamasha, which didn’t do as well commercially but was liked by critics.

His recent movies like Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017) and Love Aaj Kal (2020) didn’t do well at the box office. But now, he’s working on a new movie called Chamkila, which is a biopic on a Punjabi musician.
