Greg Berlanti

Gregory Berlanti was born on May 24, 1972, in Suffern, New York. He is an American who writes, produces, and directs movies and TV shows. Some of his famous works include Dawson’s Creek, Brothers & Sisters, Riverdale, and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. He’s also known for his contributions to DC Comics shows like Arrow and Titans.

In 2000, Berlanti started his own company called Berlanti Productions. He set a record by having 14 TV shows on air during the 2018–19 season. He’s been recognized for his impact on television and was named one of Time’s 100 most influential people in 2020.

Berlanti began his career at a young age, becoming the showrunner for Dawson’s Creek at 28. He’s known for introducing a gay character and the first same-sex kiss on U.S. network TV in Dawson’s Creek. Throughout his career, he created several successful shows like Everwood and Jack & Bobby.

Berlanti has also worked on DC Comics movies, co-writing and co-producing Green Lantern. He created the Arrowverse, a connected universe of DC shows like Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow. He’s been involved in various other DC projects, including Supergirl, Titans, and Doom Patrol.

Apart from his career, Berlanti has a personal life. He graduated from Northwestern University in 1994. He has been in a relationship with ex-LA Galaxy soccer player Robbie Rogers since 2013, and they got married in 2017. The couple has two children born via surrogacy.

Berlanti has received numerous awards for his contributions to television, including the Norman Lear Achievement Award in 2022. He is recognized for his impact on the art and craft of television and has been honored by various organizations for his work.
