Amar Kaushik

Amar Kaushik is an Indian filmmaker. He directs, produces, and writes movies. His most famous films are Stree (2018), Bala (2019), and Bhediya (2022).

Amar Kaushik grew up in Medo, Arunachal Pradesh. His dad worked in the forest, and his mom was a teacher. When he was 10, they moved to Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He studied mass communications in Delhi and then moved to Mumbai in 2006. In 2009, he was attacked on a bus, mistaken for another director, Anurag Kashyap.

Amar started his film career in 2008 as an assistant director. He worked on movies like Aamir, No One Killed Jessica, and Ghanchakkar. He also acted in some small roles. Later, he directed his short film “Aaaba,” which won awards at film festivals. He then directed Stree in 2018, which became a big hit. His future projects include a movie about surrogacy and a sequel to Stree. One of his most successful films is Bala (2019).
