Vidyut Dev Singh Jammwal was born on December 10, 1980, in India. He is an actor, martial artist, and film producer. He mostly acts in Hindi movies. He is famous for his roles in the Commando film series and has won a Filmfare Award.

Jammwal began his career with a Telugu movie called Sakthi and then appeared in his first Bollywood movie, Force. He started with negative roles but got his first lead role in the martial arts film Commando. After that, he acted in many films like Anjaan, Thuppakki, Baadshaho, Commando 2, Junglee, Yaara, Commando 3, and Sanak.

He was born in Jammu, India, to a Rajput father and a Malayali mother. His father was in the army, so he lived in different places in India. He started learning Kalaripayattu, a martial art, when he was three years old in an ashram in Kerala run by his mother. He traveled to many countries to train with martial artists.

Jammwal made his Bollywood debut in 2011 with the movie Force and won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He also appeared in negative roles in Telugu movies like Shakti and Oosaravelli. In 2012, he acted in Tamil movies like Billa II and Thuppakki, where he played negative roles.

He gained recognition for performing real combat-based action without stuntmen in his movie Commando. The movie was shown internationally and received positive feedback. He was praised as India’s answer to Bruce Lee and Tony Jaa. He continued to act in movies like Commando 2, Bullett Raja, Anjaan, and Baadshaho.

In 2019, he starred in Junglee and Commando 3, which became a successful movie. He also appeared in Yaara and Khuda Haafiz. Jammwal is known for his fit physique and has been featured in popular magazine lists like India’s Top 10 Most Desirable Men and The Sexiest Men Alive. He is a vegan and enjoys rock climbing.

Jammwal announced his engagement to fashion designer Nandita Mahtani in September 2021, but they broke up in 2023.
