Vera Ann Farmiga is an actress from America. She started acting on stage in a play called “Taking Sides” in 1996. After that, she acted in movies and TV shows. She became well-known in 2004 for her role in a movie called “Down to the Bone,” where she played a character who struggles with drug addiction. In 2009, she got a lot of praise for her role in the movie “Up in the Air,” and she was nominated for an Academy Award.

Vera also directed a movie in 2011 called “Higher Ground,” and she acted in it too. She has been in various movies like “The Departed,” “The Conjuring” series, and TV shows like “Bates Motel.” She was born on August 6, 1973, in Clifton, New Jersey, to Ukrainian parents.

Vera grew up in a Ukrainian community and spoke Ukrainian as her first language. She didn’t learn English until she was six years old. She graduated from Hunterdon Central Regional High School in 1991 and studied Theatre at Syracuse University.
