Tye Kayle Sheridan is an American actor, born on November 11, 1996. He became famous for being in the X-Men movies from 2016 to 2019, where he played the young Scott Summers, also known as Cyclops. He also had a leading role in the science fiction film Ready Player One in 2018.
Sheridan started his film career in 2011 with The Tree of Life, an experimental drama by Terrence Malick. He got noticed for his first major role in the movie Mud in 2012, directed by Jeff Nichols. He played in various films like Joe (2013), The Stanford Prison Experiment (2015), and The Card Counter and The Tender Bar in 2021.
He was born in Palestine, Texas, and his parents are Stephanie (who owns a beauty salon) and Bryan Sheridan (a UPS driver). He has a younger sister named Madison. Tye attended Elkhart Independent School District until he was 16, after which he focused more on his acting career and received tutoring on film sets.
In 2016, Sheridan played Cyclops again in X-Men: Apocalypse. He continued his career with movies like The Yellow Birds (2017), Ready Player One (2018), and Dark Phoenix (2019). In 2020, he starred in The Night Clerk and co-founded a company called Wonder Dynamics.
In 2021, he appeared in Voyagers, The Card Counter, and The Tender Bar. In 2023, he starred in Asphalt City alongside Sean Penn, based on the novel by Shannon Burke, which was released on May 18, 2023.
