Anthony Howard Goldwyn was born on May 20, 1960, in Los Angeles, California. He is an American actor, singer, producer, director, and political activist. He started his acting career in the mid-1980s and gained recognition for his role as Carl Bruner in the movie Ghost (1990). Goldwyn has been involved in various projects, including voicing Tarzan in the Disney animated film (1999) and playing President Fitzgerald Grant III in the TV series Scandal (2012–2018). He also directed episodes of Scandal and won a Peabody Award for it.

Goldwyn’s family has a strong connection to the entertainment industry. His parents are actress Jennifer Howard and film producer Samuel Goldwyn Jr. He attended Hamilton College, Brandeis University, and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art for his education. Goldwyn has also studied acting at HB Studio in New York City.

In his personal life, Goldwyn has been married to Jane Michelle Musky since 1987, and they have two daughters named Anna and Tess. He comes from a family deeply rooted in the film industry, with his brothers John and Peter also being involved in various capacities.

Aside from his career in entertainment, Goldwyn is known for his advocacy work. He has been a supporter of Hillary Clinton and has been actively involved with organizations like The Innocence Project and the AmeriCares Foundation. He has also served as an ambassador for The Innocence Project and is on the Board of Governors for the Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF). In 2021, Goldwyn hosted the Virtual Parade Across America during the inauguration of Joe Biden. In 2024, he is set to join the cast of Law & Order.
