Tisca Zareen Chopra, previously known as Tisca Arora, was born on November 1, 1973, in India. She is an actress, writer, and movie producer. She has acted in more than 45 films, mostly in Hindi.
Her most famous movie is “Taare Zameen Par,” which was India’s pick for the Academy Awards. It won her nominations for Filmfare and other top awards. Another notable film, “Qissa,” premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2013 and won the NETPAC Award for Best Asian Film. Tisca studied English literature at the University of Delhi and gained theater experience with renowned actors like Naseeruddin Shah and Feroz Khan.
Her book “Acting Smart” is a bestseller, and she’s releasing another book called “What’s Up With Me?” which helps young girls understand puberty. Tisca has been recognized for her acting in films like “10Ml Love” and has also worked on short films and theater productions.
Tisca was born in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, and grew up in Kabul, Afghanistan. She graduated from Hindu College, University of Delhi. Tisca comes from a family of educators and is related to the famous Indian writer Khushwant Singh.
In her personal life, Tisca is married to Capt. Sanjay Chopra, a pilot with Air India. They live in Mumbai with their daughter, Tara. Tisca is also involved with various NGOs that support education and women’s rights.
