Saravanan Sivakumar, also known as Suriya, is an actor and producer from India. He mostly works in Tamil movies and is one of the highest-paid actors there. He has won many awards, including National Film Awards and Filmfare Awards.
Suriya’s career started with his debut movie “Nerukku Ner” in 1997. He became famous after his role in “Nandha” in 2001 and had his first big hit with “Kaakha Kaakha” in 2003. He’s known for roles in movies like “Ghajini” (2005), “Vaaranam Aayiram” (2008), and the “Singam” trilogy as a tough cop.
He comes from a family of actors. His dad is actor Sivakumar, and his brother, Karthi, is also an actor. Suriya married actress Jyothika in 2006, and they have two kids.
Aside from acting, Suriya started the Agaram Foundation in 2006, aiming to help underprivileged kids in Tamil Nadu with education. He’s also been involved in various social causes like AIDS awareness and tiger conservation.
In recent years, Suriya has seen success with films like “Soorarai Pottru” (2020) and “Jai Bhim” (2021), which earned him critical acclaim and awards. He’s also ventured into producing films under his banner, 2D Entertainment.
