Stephen Hartley Dorff Jr., born on July 29, 1973, is an American actor. He started acting when he was a child, and you might know him from movies like “The Gate” (1987), “Blade” (1998), and “Somewhere” (2010). He also played roles in TV shows like “True Detective.”

Dorff was born in Atlanta, Georgia. His dad is a music producer, and his mom was Catholic. He went to school in Los Angeles and acted in commercials when he was young.

He got his big break in movies in the late 1980s with “The Gate.” He also appeared in TV shows like “Diff’rent Strokes” and “Family Ties.” In 1994, he got noticed for his role in “Backbeat.”
