Satish Chandra Kaushik was a famous actor, director, and writer from India. He became well-known in Bollywood for his role as Calendar in the movie Mr. India. He also worked as an Assistant Director in that film. He was born on April 13, 1956, in Mahendragarh, Haryana. He went to Kirori Mal College, Delhi University, and later studied at the National School of Drama and the Film and Television Institute of India.
As an actor, he played memorable roles like Calendar in Mr. India, Pappu Pager in Deewana Mastana, and Chanu Ahmed in Brick Lane. He won awards for his comedic performances in Ram Lakhan and Saajan Chale Sasural. He was also known for his work in theater, especially for playing Willy Loman in Salesman Ramlal.
Apart from acting, Kaushik wrote dialogues for movies like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron and directed films like Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja. He also worked in television and won awards for his show Top Ten. He was involved in starting a film company called Karol Bagh Productions.
He was planning a film about the life of Tansen, starring Abhishek Bachchan, but the script was still being developed. Kaushik was also working to promote the film industry in Haryana.
He was involved in a film city project in Chandigarh but had to give it up due to controversies. In his personal life, he married Shashi in 1985 and had a daughter through surrogacy in 2012. Sadly, his son passed away in 1996.
Satish Chandra Kaushik died of a heart attack on March 9, 2023, at the age of 66. His last Instagram post showed him celebrating Holi in 2023.
