Ranganathan Madhavan was born on June 1, 1970, in India. He is an actor, writer, director, and producer who mostly works in Tamil and Hindi movies. He has won many awards for his work in films.

Madhavan became famous in Tamil cinema with his role in a romantic movie called Alai Payuthey in 2000. He is known for his roles in romantic movies like Minnale and Dumm Dumm Dumm. He also acted in successful Hindi films like Rang De Basanti, Guru, and 3 Idiots.

After taking a break from acting, Madhavan returned with hit movies like Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Irudhi Suttru, and Vikram Vedha. He received many awards for his role as a boxing coach in Irudhi Suttru.

Madhavan also directed a movie called Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, which was praised by critics. Apart from acting, he has written scripts for movies, hosted TV shows, and endorsed various brands.

He was born in Jamshedpur, India, to a Tamil family. He went to school in Jamshedpur and later studied in Kolhapur. Madhavan became involved in military training during college and won awards for his public speaking skills.
