Parker Christian Posey is an American actress born on November 8, 1968. She’s known for her roles in independent films during the 1990s. People called her the “Queen of the Indies” because she starred in many indie movies like Dazed and Confused, Party Girl, and The House of Yes.
Even as she started working on bigger projects later on, Parker continued to act in smaller, independent films like Personal Velocity and Columbus. Some of her mainstream movies include You’ve Got Mail, Scream 3, and Superman Returns.
Parker often collaborates with Christopher Guest in mockumentaries like Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show. On TV, she’s appeared in shows like Lost in Space and The Staircase.
Parker was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and grew up in Louisiana and Mississippi. She studied drama at the State University of New York.
Besides acting, Parker has appeared on Broadway and learned to play the mandolin for a movie role. In 2018, she wrote a memoir called “You’re on an Airplane: A Self-Mythologizing Memoir.”
She’s known for living in New York City’s Greenwich Village and the East Village.
