Orlando Bloom is an English actor born on January 13, 1977. He became famous for playing Legolas in The Lord of the Rings movies from 2001 to 2003. He also acted in The Hobbit series (2013-2014) and the Pirates of the Caribbean series (2003-2007, 2017).

Some people call him the Errol Flynn of his time. He’s known for his roles in fantasy, historical, and adventure films, such as Troy (2004), Kingdom of Heaven (2005), and The Three Musketeers (2011). Orlando has been in Hollywood films like Black Hawk Down (2001) and Elizabethtown (2005).

He began acting on stage in 2007 and appeared on Broadway in Romeo and Juliet in 2013. Orlando Bloom also played in the Amazon Prime Video series Carnival Row (2019-2023).

Orlando was born in Canterbury, Kent, and he discovered his dyslexia while growing up. His acting career started in 1997 with a small role in the film Wilde. In 1999, right after graduating, he got a major role as Legolas in The Lord of the Rings.

Apart from acting, Orlando Bloom is known for his environmental efforts. He has a tattoo of the Elvish word “nine” on his wrist from The Lord of the Rings. He’s also been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2009.

In his personal life, Orlando has been in relationships with actresses Kate Bosworth and Miranda Kerr. He has a son with Miranda Kerr, but they separated in 2013. Later, he dated French actress Nora Arnezeder. In 2016, he started dating singer Katy Perry, and they have a daughter born in August 2020.

Orlando Bloom has received recognition for his work, including awards like the BAFTA Britannia Humanitarian Award in 2015. He was honored with a degree from the University of Kent in 2010 and got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2014.
