Noni Hazlehurst is an Australian actress, director, writer, presenter, and broadcaster. She has been on TV, radio, stage, and in movies since the early 1970s. She has won many awards, like the Australian Film Institute Awards, ARIA Awards, and Logies. In 2016, she was put into the Hall of Fame.

Hazlehurst was born in Melbourne. She went to St Leonard’s College in Brighton East, Victoria, then studied Drama at Flinders University in South Australia. She graduated in 1974. She learned ballet, singing, piano, and drama. Her parents were from England and moved to Australia in 1951.

On TV, Hazlehurst has done many things. She started with guest roles in shows by Crawford Productions. She was on “The Box” in 1975 and “The Sullivans” in 1976. She was on “Play School” from 1978 to 2001 and has helped many children’s charities. She also did music and spoken word albums, like “Shout and Whisper” in 1988.

She has been in many shows and movies since the 1980s. She was in “Better Homes and Gardens” from 1995 to 2005, “City Homicide” from 2007 to 2011, and “A Place to Call Home” from 2013 to 2018. She was in movies like “Monkey Grip” in 1982, “Little Fish” in 2005, and “The Mule” in recent years.

Hazlehurst also works on radio, often on 774 ABC Melbourne.
