Nicholas John Robinson, born on March 22, 1995, is an American actor. When he was a kid, he acted in a play called A Christmas Carol and Mame in 2008. Later, he played a main role in a TV show called Melissa & Joey from 2010 to 2015.
After that, Robinson had a supporting role in the movie Jurassic World in 2015. He also starred in various teen dramas like The Kings of Summer (2013), The 5th Wave (2016), Everything, Everything (2017), and Love, Simon (2018). Recently, he acted in the drama series A Teacher (2020) and Maid (2021).
In his early life, Robinson was born in Seattle, Washington, and has four younger siblings. He started school in Seattle but moved to Los Angeles when he got a role in Melissa & Joey. He finished high school in 2013 at Campbell Hall School. He got into New York University but went there only during the summer to work on Melissa & Joey.
Robinson began acting professionally at eleven in a play based on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. He got into acting because a talent scout named Matt Casella recommended him to agencies. Due to a writer’s strike, his family moved back to Washington, where he continued acting on stage.
In 2010, Robinson got a role in the TV show Melissa & Joey and played Ryder Scanlon until it ended in 2015. He also acted in a Disney Channel movie called Frenemies in 2011. In 2012, he played the lead role in the movie The Kings of Summer.
Robinson’s career continued to grow, and he starred in big movies like Jurassic World (2015) and The 5th Wave (2016). In 2018, he played the main character in Love, Simon, a groundbreaking film about a gay teenage romance. Forbes recognized him in their “30 Under 30” list in 2018.
Recently, Robinson was in the FX miniseries A Teacher (2020), narrated responses in Love, Victor, and starred in the Netflix miniseries Maid (2021). He received praise for his performance in Maid.
