Manushi Chhillar, born on May 14, 1997, is an Indian actress and model. She won the Miss World 2017 pageant. She comes from Haryana, India, and represented her state in the Femina Miss India 2017 pageant. She won the title of Femina Miss India World 2017 and became the sixth Miss World from India after 17 years.
Chhillar started acting with her role as Sanyogita in the historical drama Samrat Prithviraj in 2022. She has also appeared in The Great Indian Family (2023) and Operation Valentine (2024).
Early Life and Education
Manushi was born in Rohtak, Haryana, to a Haryanvi family. Her parents are both doctors. She studied at St. Thomas’ School in New Delhi and was a topper in English in class 12. She was pursuing a medical degree (MBBS) at Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College in Sonipat.
Manushi is fluent in Hindi, English, and Haryanvi. She is also trained in Kuchipudi dance.
Manushi participated in various beauty pageants, starting with Fashion Big Bazaar sponsored Campus Princess 2016. She won the title of Femina Miss India Haryana in April 2017 and then won Femina Miss India World 2017. She represented India in Miss World 2017 and won the crown.
During her reign as Miss World, Manushi worked on her Beauty with a Purpose project called Project Shakti, focusing on menstrual hygiene awareness.
Manushi signed a three-film contract with Yash Raj Films and made her debut in Samrat Prithviraj in 2022. She appeared in The Great Indian Family (2023) and Operation Valentine (2024). Her performances received mixed reviews from critics.
Manushi will appear in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan alongside Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. She will also star opposite John Abraham in Tehran, directed by Dinesh Vijan.
