Kulbhushan Kharbanda is an Indian actor. He acts in movies in Hindi and Punjabi languages. He is famous for playing the bad guy Shakaal in the movie Shaan (1980). He started acting in the 1960s with a theater group in Delhi called ‘Yatrik’. Then he began acting in movies, starting with Jadu Ka Shankh in 1974. He worked in many different kinds of movies before he became well-known. You might have seen him in movies like Arth (1982), Ek Chadar Maili Si (1986), and all three parts of Deepa Mehta’s Elements trilogy: Fire (1996), Earth (1998), and Water (2005).

Kharbanda’s career started with theater. He joined a group called “Yatrik” in Delhi, then later moved to Kolkata and worked with the theater group “Padatik”. After that, he moved to Mumbai to work in films. He got noticed in the movie Nishaant (1974), and then worked in many other films by directors like Shyam Benegal and Ramesh Sippy.

He became famous after playing the villain Shakaal in Shaan. After that, he acted in many mainstream Bollywood movies like Shakti (1982), Ghayal (1990), and Refugee (2000). But he also continued to act in art films like Chakra (1981) and Mandi (1983).

Kharbanda has also acted in TV serials like Shanno Ki Shaadi and Mahi Ve. He has also been part of many stage plays. Recently, he has been seen in digital shows like Mirzapur on Amazon Prime, where his character Bauji has become very popular. People are eagerly waiting for the third season of Mirzapur.
