Kira Nicole Kosarin, born on October 7, 1997, is an American actress and singer. You might know her from playing Phoebe Thunderman on the Nickelodeon show called The Thundermans. On April 10, 2019, she released her first album called Off Brand, and later, in 2022, she signed with Republic Records.
In her early years, Kosarin did dance and gymnastics. She studied ballet at Boca Ballet Theatre and went to middle school at Pine Crest School. Her parents were performers on Broadway. Her mom was an actress, and her dad was a music director, conductor, and record producer. So, she grew up doing acting, singing, and dancing. After attending an “acting on camera” workshop, she decided to move to Los Angeles in 2011 to pursue acting.
Kosarin’s family has Ashkenazi Jewish roots from Eastern Europe.
In her acting career, she started on Disney Channel’s Shake It Up and gained fame for playing Phoebe Thunderman on Nickelodeon. She was nominated for Kids’ Choice Awards in 2015 and 2016 but didn’t win. She also appeared in a Nickelodeon film called One Crazy Cruise and later joined the Hulu series Light as a Feather.
In terms of music, Kosarin released her debut single “Spy” in 2018, followed by other singles like “Vinyl,” “Love Me Like You Hate Me,” and “Take This Outside.” Her first album, Off Brand, came out on April 10, 2019. She also released an extended play called Songbird in 2020. In 2022, she signed with Republic Records and released her major-label debut single “Mood Ring” on March 11, 2022.
In her personal life, as of 2020, Kosarin has been in a relationship with musician Max Chester, and they got engaged in July 2023.
