Jeong started as a doctor but got into comedy during his medical residency. He moved to Los Angeles in 1998 and worked as a physician while doing stand-up comedy. His big break came with the movie Knocked Up in 2007, and he transitioned from medicine to a full-time entertainer in 2006.

Since then, Jeong has been in various movies and TV shows, like The Hangover series, Community, and Crazy Rich Asians. He’s also a panelist on The Masked Singer and the host of I Can See Your Voice.

In his personal life, Jeong is married to Tran Ho, a family physician, and they have twin daughters. They live in Calabasas, California. Jeong and his friend Joel McHale host a podcast called The Darkest Timeline.
